Good science needs good communication: rhetoric and media competence in Nanoscience
Bridging the communication divide between (nano-)science and the public is a pivotal yet highly underestimated scientific community task. A researcher ought to be able to communicate successfully about his/her own scientific findings both to his/her peers as well as to the broad non-scientific public. Rhetorical skills and media competence thus should be trained – they are indispensable parts of any good academic communication.
